When you send funeral flowers it can be quite expensive; I can tell you first hand, due to the fact that my family just lost a loved one.  Everyone wants to send funeral flowers, however most of us can't afford to pay for them alone, but we decided to all go in together and send funeral flowers for my aunt's funeral. 

If you decide to send funeral flowers as a group you can buy a much prettier and larger arrangement!  Most funeral flower arrangements need to be set up on a stand and that will cost you even more. 

We had even considered buying the spray for the coffin, but a few of us decided that buying the spray should be left up to the closest family members to decide upon.  We felt that it was something that should reflect who the person was; only the closest family members knew how the person was and what they loved most!

Then something else you might want to consider is how long the flowers for the funeral will last after they are placed on the grave site.  I believe that the lighter the color, the more the sun would reflect the light, thus causing the flowers to last longer.  The larger the funeral flower arrangements, the more space for water in the bottom of the arrangement, so that may help them last longer as well!

So when you send funeral flowers just ask your other family members or friends if they want to go in together and buy the flowers for the funeral.  It will save everyone a lot of money and still let the loved ones know how much you care!
