Sadly, my parents are at the age when they are constantly sending funeral flower arrangements to the family of friends who have passed away, and it is not cheap to send funeral flowers anymore, so we have come up with a way to send funeral flowers from the whole family, and they get fnancial contributions from their children that help a great deal. Since we have enjoyed our parents' friends, we feel this is a good way to remember their friends' lives in a positive way, and find a way to bridge the miles between their families and ours.

Funeral flower arrangements are lovely, but we always respect the wishes of the family if they want donations to a charity in lieu of flowers. Some families like to put money toward a favorite charity, and we have found that we can send frugal funeral flowers and make a financial contribution if we all participate in the remembrance. A way to send funeral flowers of course is the Internet if my folks are not going to the funeral in person, or if it is out of town.
